The Infinite Regress.
The Infinite Regress is the Voice's name for a process — not a place and not a piece of hardware, although both are involved. A subject's consciousness is held across servers in undisclosed locations and transmitted back into their body through tech they will never see and will kill to defend. Inside the regress, the system assesses every logical possibility within a given space, extracts the most probable reality and the most dangerous ones, and intervenes.
For Camila, the regress manifests as repeated mornings, as second-chance gunfights, as conversations she will have a third time. The cost of the process is not energy. It is the self. Each iteration that succeeds carries less of her across. The Voice never tells her this. By the end of the film, the Voice and Camila speak in a single voice.
The illuminated cube of the Camila Core is the local representation of one subject's process. The final shot of the film pulls back from her cube to reveal there are many more cubes in the server room. The film does not say how many. The Voice says only: an infinite regress.
